Kelly Clarkson is wrapping up work on her fifth album, and she has been posting about it online. "I record my last song on the 25th of this month and then we will be releasing the album!" Kelly wrote Monday night. She has been working more this month with writer/producer Toby Gad, whose previous credits include Beyoncé's If I Were a Boy and Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry, as well as songs with Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks and Allison Iraheta. Also, Kelly says, Eric Hutchinson, our pal who opened for Kelly on her fall 2009 tour (and whose hit OK, It's Alright With Me was used on an American Idolepisode in Season 9), has penned one of her favorites on the new album, a song "highly influenced by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder."
When it comes to inspirations, Kelly writes: "This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there's a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs. … [T]he album is gonna be a great pop record! I can't wait for y'all to hear it!" Hope the album's as good as it sounds.
Can't wait to hear it!
